Alla Svirsky was a former international gymnast that turned to coaching and administration. She served as head coach for the 1984 USA Women’s Olympic Rhythmic Gymnastics Team in Los Angeles.
She pioneered the sport of Rhythmic Gymnastics and one of her two 1984 Olympic gymnasts was Valerie Zimring (Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame inductee in 1990). She coached 15 national champions.
Svirsky is a three-time U.S. Olympic gymnastics coach, seven-time USA Gymnastics ‘Coach of the Year’, a USA Olympic Judge and an Inductee into the Gymnastics Hall of Fame. She served for eight years on the USAG Gymnastics Board of Directors.
Alla holds Masters’ Degrees in Anatomy, Physiology and Physical Education. She is the Executive Director of the Los Angeles School of Gymnastics with three locations in the Los Angeles area. She has been with the school from its beginning.
