Satin, Josh — Baseball

Baseball - 2022

Josh Satin was both a High School and Collegiate Baseball All-American, as well as a two-time Maccabi Games Gold Medalist. He had a tremendous high school career at Harvard-Westlake as an infielder, including hitting 21 home runs his last two years. He batted .478 as a senior in taking All-CIF honors and the MVP Award at the Daily News Classic. Harvard-Westlake inducted him into their Hall of Fame in 2009. He was accepted at UC Berkeley and was co-MVP as a freshman when he batted .348 and made the National Freshman All-American team.

For the next two summers Josh was an All-Star at the prestigious Cape Cod Summer League and became a Collegiate All-American in his senior year – playing third base — when he hit .379 with 18 home runs and had a 27-game hitting streak. He was drafted in the 6th round by the New York Mets as a two-time Jewish Sports Review All-American and was a part-time starter for the Mets over four years in the major leagues, which included tying a NY Mets all-time rookie record by reaching base in 29 straight games and hitting .279. While playing for the Mets, Josh represented Israel internationally three times — first in the 2012 World Baseball Classic, then in the 2013 World Championships, and was a member of the team that qualified for the 2016 World Championships before retiring during the 2016 season due to injuries.
