Water Polo - 2018
Josh Samuels is already one of the most decorated USA Water Polo athletes in his young career. Samuels attended Villa Park High School in Orange County – where he was the 2008 Orange County Register Boys Water Polo Player, 2009 Century League Male Athlete of the Year, and the 2009 Orange County Register Male Athlete of the Year. He scored over 400 goals, won two national club titles and was a CIF swimming champion, in addition to playing varsity basketball.
Samuels attended UCLA, where he studied Political Science and was a multi-time Collegiate All-American. He was a rare player in UCLA history – scoring over 100 career goals while leading the Bruins to two NCAA Championship matches. Samuels has also had a successful career for team USA, starting at the 2015 World Championships, the Pan American Games, and the FINA World League Finals. In 2016, Samuels started for the USA Olympic team in Brazil, and the 6-4, 210 pounder is currently a leading candidate for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as one of the top players in the world.
