Eli Sherman Pillar of Achievement - 2024

The dominant local sports spokesperson for over 25 years as Vice-President of Communications for AEG, the Staples Center (now Crypto.com Arena), and Peacock Theatre (third longest tenured employee in the AEG organization), Michael Roth is responsible for operations of all events at the key sports facilities. He assists with logistics and lobbying on any future projects such as AEG’s successful bid for use of five of their sports facilities; the LA Convention Center; and being selected as the official IOC hotel for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Through his AEG Development position, he has helped spearhead projects such as the building of LA Live, where he was instrumental in lobbying city officials for development agreements, and for a community benefit package to assure LA Live creates positive attributes for the community. Michael began his career in 1997, and is one of the most established executive venue experts in Southern California.

He has been honored with the Hollywood Professional Association (HPA) Gala Leadership Award for his service to the community, the LAPD Hollenbeck Pal honor for his local area support, and the 2011 PR Professional of the Year by Society of America. He is a member of the Los Angeles Police Foundation Board, and past member of the Sports and Entertainment Board for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Michael was also the Co-Chair for the 2023 Los Angeles Kings Jewish Heritage Night. He has been an active member of the Stephen S.
