Rosenfeld, Robert

Sports Medicine - 1993

Orthopedic surgeon Robert Rosenfeld was associated with the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders for 25 years (1968-93), after aiding the USC football program for several years.

Al Davis invited Rosenfeld to be a Raiders consultant in 1968. His work grew to team assignments in diagnosis and treatment of football injuries.

The Iowa-born surgeon was a World War II major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, and received special commendation from the Surgeon General for his work in treatment of injuries. A member of the American College of Sports Medicine and American Athletic Trainers Association, Dr. Rosenfeld also served three years on the President's Council for Physical Fitness.
