Richard Perelman headed the Press Operations Department for the 1984 Olympic Games, managing the professional and personal needs of 9,150 media. Some of his other high profile assignments include: news media management, venue planning and/or special support assignments for the 1990 Goodwill Games, 1992 (summer), 1996 (summer) and 2002 (winter) Olympic Games.

* Authored 27 statistical works on track and field.
* He was event manager of the 1977, 1988 and 1996 Pacific-10 Conference Track & Field Championships, and had management responsibility for four national T&F championships, as well as the 1990 L.A. Marathon.
