Pederson, Joc
Baseball - 2020
After finishing a strong career as an outfielder at Palo Alto High School in 2010, Pederson was drafted straight out of there by the Dodgers — the same team where his father had played. Pederson rapidly rose through the minor league system, including a season earning Dodgers Minor League Player of the Year honors in 2012, before being first called up to the big leagues in 2014.
Pederson’s breakout season came the following year, when he hit 26 home runs and earned an NL All-Star berth at the ripe age of 23. Ever since then, Pederson has been a mainstay in the lineup for a Dodgers team that has won seven straight NL West titles. Pederson most recently blasted a career-high 36 home runs in 2019, his 4th time in 5 full MLB seasons hitting at least 25 dingers.
