Match, Sammy

Tennis - 2000

Born in L.A., Sammy Match ranked #8 U.S. in 1949 and #10 U.S. in 1950.

Match won the Men’s United States’ National Clay Court Doubles championship in 1948 and 1949 (with Bobby Curtis). He was ranked #4 in U.S. Doubles in 1948 (with Curtis).
In 1947, Sammy and his Rice Institute partner won the U.S. Intercollegiate Doubles title.
