Marks, Norman

Gymnastics - 1997

In the 1950s, Norman Marks was Southern California’s premier high school and collegiate gymnast.

At Roosevelt High, he was All-City Floor Exercise Champion in 1953. The following year, Marks was Southern California Junior College Floor Exercise Champion, and All-California titlest in 1955. At Cal State-L.A. in 1956-57, he won 39 consecutive competitions. In 1957, his final collegiate year, he was NCAA Floor Exercise Champion.

A product of Boyle Heights and the Soto-Michigan Center, Marks was inducted into the California State University, Los Angeles, Athletic Hall of Fame.
