Andrew Lorraine transitioned from an outstanding high school baseball career at Newhall’s Hart High School into an excellent college career at Stanford University. The left-handed pitcher was originally taken out of high school by the New York Mets in the 38th round of the 1990 major league draft. The 1993 All-Pac-10 pitcher was then drafted in the fourth round by the California Angels. He had a six-year Major League pitching career as both a starter and a reliever.

Lorraine played for almost 40 teams over his 16-year playing career and his major league stints saw him with the Angels, Chicago White Sox, Oakland A’s, Seattle Mariners, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians and Milwaukee Brewers. He had a major league career record of 6-11 with a 6.53 earned run average in 59 games and was 106-81 with a 4.18 ERA in the minor leagues. Most recently Lorraine was the pitching coach for Israel at the 2017 World Baseball Classic qualifier. He is currently working in the Pittsburgh Pirates scouting department after six years as a minor league pitching instructor for the Seattle Mariners.
