Over 17 professional baseball seasons, the switch-hitting Mike Lieberthal owned a .274 career batting average, with 150 home runs and 610 RBIs. A National League All-Star catcher for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1999 and 2000, he earned the 1999 National League Golden Glove Award for catchers.

Following severe injuries during the 2001 and early 2002 seasons, Lieberthal was selected as ‘The Sporting News’ National League Comeback Player of the Year in 2002. Born in Glendale, CA, 17-year old Westlake High School catcher was the first round pick of the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1990 amateur draft, and made his Major League debut with Phillies in June, 1994.

His long career with Philadelphia lasted until the end of the 2006 season. He finished his 17 year pro career with the Dodgers in 2007.
