Vic “The Brick” began his eccentric and gregarious 20-year Los Angeles broadcasting career in 1988 at KCOP, where he worked as the evening news sports anchor for two years. He then joined Rick Dees as the morning sportscaster on KIIS, where he stayed until he became one of the original on-air staff when XTRA sports radio 1150 AM, launched in 1997.

Jacobs has hosted his own radio show, as well as co-hosting shows with NBA star Karl Malone and NFL Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw. When XTRA 1150 AM and KLAC AM 570 merged, Jacobs joined the broadcast team of Steve Hartman and ex-Lakers star Mychal Thompson to form the “Loose Cannons,” the highest rated afternoon sports talk show in L.A.

“The Brick” began his broadcasting career most appropriately in Roswell, New Mexico as a TV sportscaster, then Austin, Texas (KXAN-TV) for six years during the 1980s. He came to California in 1987, starting in Fresno (KMPH-TV) where he was a sports anchor and play-by-play commentator on the Fresno State football broadcasts (with Steve Physioc).

Jacobs earned his nickname during his stint in Fresno, when he would throw a foam brick at the camera anytime he disapproved of an occurrence or event in sports.
