Fuller, Burt

Volleyball - 2018

Burt Fuller has had a tremendous volleyball career, with success as a player, assistant coach, head coach, and match official – both indoors and on the beach. As a player, Fuller played at Pierce College – leading them to two State Tournaments – and graduated college at Chico State. Then, Fuller began his 20-year college coaching career, with successful stints at his alma mater Pierce College, UCLA, and a head coaching job at Utah State – where he turned around the program. In addition to coaching at the college level, Fuller was the head coach of the 1997 USA Maccabiah Team that won the USA' s first-ever volleyball gold medal against Israel at the World Games.

After finishing as an assistant at San Diego State and Utah, Fuller has become one of the USA' s most decorated indoor and beach officials. Fuller was a member of the officiating crew at the inaugural Olympic Beach Volleyball competition in 1996 in Atlanta, and was the coordinator of the officiating crew for the 1998 Goodwill Games in New York. He has officiated at the past two NCAA Women' s Beach Championships in Gulf Shores, and travels the country during the summer as the West Coast Scout/Lead Clinician for Volleyball Factory.
