Firestone, Roy

A winner of six Emmys and two ACE (cable TV) Awards, Roy Firestone has been called “The best interviewer in the business” by Sports Illustrated Magazine. He was KCBS sports anchor from 1977 to 1985, and hosted ESPN’s acclaimed “Sportslook” interview series from 1980 to 1996.

Firestone began his career as a TV sports reporter in hometown Miami Beach before moving to Los Angeles in 1977. His broadcasting career of more than twenty years includes hosting NFL shows on ESPN, the “Los Angeles Lakers Pre-Game Show”, “Mike Tyson--Portrait of a Champion” cable special, and other weekly shows and specials.
