Epstein, Hayden

Football - 2024

Hayden Epstein was the nation’s #1 high school kicker in 1998 coming out of an All-CIF career at Torrey Pines where he made a record 58-yard field goal. He was a Parade All-American, and was selected as top kicker by two different recruiting publications. He was also an outstanding punter.

He went to Michigan University on scholarship where he made 56- and 57-yard field goals during his career. Hayden was an All-Big-10 selection in helping the Wolverines to two Big Ten titles and Rose Bowl appearances as both the starting kicker and punter. He was unique in that he was nominated twice for the Lou Groza (kicking) and Ray Guy (punting) national awards.

Hayden was a kicker rarity in that he was drafted by the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars and had a seven-year professional kicking career in the NFL, Canadian Football League and NFL Europe before retiring. Hayden also won a World Bowl title in Europe.
