Einberg, Myra

Golf - 2018

Myra Einberg began her coaching career in 1974 with stints at Belmont High School and Huntington Park High, where she coached girls basketball and girls gymnastics. In 1982, she transferred to Venice High, where she had success coaching girls gymnastics, girls volleyball, and boys volleyball as one of the first females to coach a boys sport. After winning the LA City boys volleyball title in 2001, Einberg began coaching boys and girls golf. Her boys were City champs in 2009 and runners-up in 2010, while her girls were City runners-up twice, in 2008 and 2009.

The California Coaches Association named Einberg, who has a Master's degree from Cal State Long Beach, the 2005 Boys Golf Coach of the Year. Einberg retired in 2013, and was a recipient of the 2013-14 CIF Distinguished Service Award for her volunteer work with Friends of Golf, where she helped to distribute new golf clubs to over eighty students from the CIF Los Angeles City Section. She was inducted into the LA City Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017.
