Cohen-Fredgant, Nancy

Volleyball - 2018

Nancy Cohen Fredgant began playing beach volleyball as soon as she could walk, and won her first Women's Open Beach Volleyball Tournament when she was just 14 years old. She attended Pacific Palisades High School to play indoor volleyball, and led them to the LA City Title, where she earned the LA City Most Valuable Player honor. She then went to Pepperdine University on an athletic scholarship, and led them to four straight AIAW Tournament appearances.

After college, Cohen Fredgant went back to playing beach volleyball, won 17 tournaments from 1974-1991, mostly with HOF player Kathy Gregory, and was selected for the California Beach Volleyball Hall of Fame. Cohen Fredgant has stayed active in the sport – coaching on the junior level with the Sunshine Volleyball Club, and playing the beach game in her free time. She has also worked in Hollywood as a volleyball entertainment stunt coordinator.
