Cantor, Izzy

Football - 2014

Isadore ‘Izzy’ Cantor was All-City at Roosevelt High 1933 and 1934, and a UCLA quarterback, halfback and fullback 1936–38.
As a pro and military football star (prior to the NFL coming to the West Coast), Izzy was a running back and defensive linebacker 1940-42 for the L.A. Bulldogs of the Pacific Coast Football League; Santa Ana Army Air Base Flyers 1942-45; Minter Army Air Field Flyers (Hawaii) 1945; Hollywood Bears (PCFL) 1946 & 1948.

Cantor was a B'nai B’rith Jewish All-American in 1938, and third team in 1937.
