Coaching - 1994

One of the most successful high school coaches in Los Angeles, Steve Berk has coached his teams to City championships in four different sports.

During a quarter-century at Chatsworth High School, Berk’s boys and girls cross country runners have won two L.A. City titles, and eight League championships. His girls' soccer team has won three titles and, in 1994, his boys tennis team captured the Los Angeles City championship.

Steve’s boys’ volleyball teams have won three Los Angeles City championships--1981, 1984, 1989. They were also runners-up four times. His boys volleyballers also won 10 consecutive League championships. Twelve of Steve’s youngsters have gone on to play in Division I men's collegiate programs.

In addition to coaching, Berk has also taught Physical Education at Chatsworth since 1962.
