Sigman, Jordan

Baseball - Loyola High School of Los Angeles
2008 Male Jewish High School Athlete of the Year

Jordan Sigman had a 14–0 record in his senior year at Loyola Los Angeles, pitching the Cubs to the Southern Section Division III high school baseball championship. At the time of his award, Jordan began playing baseball for Chapman University in the spring of 2008.

At Loyola Los Angeles. the right-hander emerged as one of the most effective pitchers in Southern California despite the absence of an overpowering fastball. He used pinpoint control combined with the ability to change speeds to baffle hitters all season. At 6’6”, 190 pounds, Jordan first gained notice as a sophomore when the converted catcher started the season with a streak of 27 2/3 scoreless innings.

As a senior, he was the starting and winning pitcher at Dodger Stadium when Loyola defeated La Mirada High, 11-5, in eight innings, in the Division III final.
